Each day has an AM shift from 8:45am-1pm, and a PM shift from 12:45pm-5pm (4h15min per shift). Your shifts are scheduled for days that your child attends, and would be assigned when you join. Children may be dropped off between 9am-9:30am, and parents picking up children arrive at 4:30pm to help clean up for the day and stay until closing circle time, which usually ends around 5:10pm.

Family Responsibilities
At Puddle Jumpers, the parents are wholly responsible for running the organization, which includes financial, strategic, legal, staff management, enrollment responsibilities, as well as the ongoing management of day-to-day operations in the classroom. Each member family is required to take on a number of roles to ensure we provide the best possible care for us all to thrive.

Although cooperative childcare offers great rewards, the work involved in running a thriving coop is substantial. We encourage prospective families to reflect carefully on the time and energy commitment before applying.

The success of Puddle Jumpers is therefore the direct result of all parents fulfilling their responsibilities as listed below:
  1. Paying monthly dues, based on your child's attendance
  2. Work required shifts weekly, depending on your child's attendance. A shift is 4 hours 15 minutes long; working parents eat with the children.
  3. When picking up your child for the day, arrive at 4:30pm to help clean up (30 min).
  4. Providing lunch, snack or activity during your shift. Each family is expected to provide lunch 1 to 2 times per month.
  5. Covering unfilled shifts monthly.
  6. Attending evening member meetings monthly,  biweekly, on an as needed basis.
  7. Performing a co-op job (e.g., membership, maintenance, treasurer, etc.)
  8. Participating in Quarterly Clean-Up & Open House events.
  9. Becoming CPR/First Aid certified within six weeks of joining.
  10. Paying $650 deposit and an annual $100 non-refundable toy/art supply fee.
